Meet the Chef

Inspired by baking with her mom, Cara attended culinary school at El Centro College in Dallas and began her career as a baker, eventually working as a bakery manager for a decade. Her dream of opening her own bakery was realized on June 27, 2011, when she opened The Flour Shop Bakery in The Shops at Highland Village. For Cara, baking is a passion, not just a job, and she loves creating desserts that evoke nostalgic memories for her customers. She stays true to traditional methods taught by her mom, using no artificial flavors or mixes, aiming to enhance classic flavors while keeping their familiar taste.
